Danny I got a 120 pound spike Saturday evening. It happen to be a the deer Connor (my 15 year old son) saw at 40 yards and chose not to shoot at (an excellent choice for anyone especially a 15 year old). I got it on my expand season tag so I still have some hunting to do.

What Kevin isn't telling you is that he shot his deer from the ground with an osage selfbow that he made.
Quite an accomplishment.
Way to go Kevin.

I didn't hunt bear this year, but a friend invited me to hunt a property in Bangor for the expanded season. I ALMOST got a 4pt last Saturday, but got busted drawing by a doe that was behind me, never knew she was there until she blew. I set a blind up in a different spot yesterday and saw 2 does, but never had a clean shot.

I'm going down to Cape Elizabeth next weekend, going to give it a shot down there and see if I can make meat.

slowest archery season for me since the early '80s when there were NO deer around here. With the enormous mast crop in this area the deer don't have to move much to feed. Last winter killed off quite a few,I have found skeletons almost every time I go out. Saw a total of 1 deer while in a stand, with no shot opportunity,I usually see 15 or 20 deer during the regular archery season. Oh well I still had a great time and am looking forward to next year already, maybe I'll get to hunt the expanded zone some more this year.
