Just got a couple of recurves in on a trade today. Top to bottom, Appalachian Archery Elk Mtn. static 58" 62@28, Acadian Woods static 60" 55@28, and Miami Valley bamboo and carbon 62" 53@28.

I got the Appy last winter (been looking for one for a couple of years), and the other two arrived today. Shot them both a little this afternoon and they're both sweet shooters.

Those are some nice looking bows. I have a '59 Grizzly that is a great shooter. Have been thinking about buying a newer bow in the same style, just can't make up my mind what make, any suggestions ?

The best '59 copy I know of is the McCollough(sp?). Guys rave about them, but for the $$$, you could a couple or three of the real thing. For a general 50's style 'curve, check out JD Lund at Whisperstik. His Mojostik recurve is a real shooter and his prices are very reasonable. The bows are fast and quiet, mine's on order now.

This is his standard grip, but he'll make any type of grip you want. It looks a little weird, but it fits your hand perfectly. I had one of his demo bows here for a week and ordered mine with the same grip.

If I make it to the shoot Sunday, I'll have a couple of mine with me. I might be talked into trading the Miami Valley, since I did the trade to get the Acadian.
