Hi all, new to the board and coming back to archery after a layoff of many years (competing in rifle and pistol shooting for the past twenty years or so).

I have a beautiful old Pearson Javelina recurve from the early '70s I am guessing, and it is 35#@28" model. I want to get some non-wood field/practice arrows (for the sake of durability) and wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. I don't hunt, and don't intend to ... but I thoroughly enjoy roving and casual field archery.

Any input would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Paddy

Welcome. If you get up toward Old Town, then Old Town Archery would be able to cover the arrows for you. At the other end, Kittery Trading Post has traditional archery supplies. I'm not sure what lies in between, unless you wait a month or so for the new Cabela's to open in Scarborough.

Anyhow, glad to have you on here!

I feel carbon arrows are the way to go for roving, they don't break easily and they stay straight, put a Judo point on them for roving and you won't lose them.

Thanks for the input! Sorry for the delay in reply; computer woes.

Has anyone had any dealings with Johnson's Sporting Goods? I am in Rockland every day and they seem to have a pretty good selection and all ...

I've bought some stuff from Johnson's... I found it expensive and they didn't seem to have a lot of traditional stuff.
