hello to all...my name is Noah Conway just wanted to introduce myself.....just got into bow hunting a couple years ago and am addicted....have an older bear kodiak that my father let me use and am looking on some advice as i know something isnt right and im sure it would be obvious to one of you...the arrows are all over the place....I am pretty green on the setup of a recurve and have been going by what other people have told me but i think I have been fed some BS.....I think its either the arrows or the rest that is throwing me off.....I was told to get this plastic adhesive rest at KTP and the arrows seem to jump off it weird....also I was told to get some arrows from walmart as that is all i would need however it seems that they are def not stiff enough and the veins jump off the plastic all f'd up...I am guessing I should be shooting feathers...I know im a good shot but the setup is way off....prolly making myself look like an idiot but i want to get a lot more shooting in before deer season as I want a clean kill and its been my dream to kill my first bow deer with my dads bow....any help is much appreciated I can post some pics of the trouble spots if i havent given enough info so you can see what im working with...thanks again -Noah

Noah,
what is the draw weight of your Kodiak? You'll need to get arrows that are the right spine for that weight.I would suggest getting rid of the plastic rest and shooting off the shelf, for this your arrows will have to be fletched with feathers. Move the nocking point up or down until you get good arrow flight. I have a bunch of arrows you can try. I live in Steep Falls and you used to play baseball with my son Dale.
If you want I'll help you get started.
Dan
